Family Stream
For general information about family visas (spouse, fiancé, child, parent migration), visit the Department of Immigration and Citizenship's website at: http://www.immi.gov.au/migrants/index.htm.
The Department produces a series of booklets designed to help you understand requirements for migration and how to make applications. Each booklet contains the necessary information, together with the relevant application forms.
• Booklet 1, Partner Migration - for migration by spouses, fiancés and interdependent partners.
• Booklet 2, Child Migration - dependent children, orphan relatives or adopted children.
• Booklet 3, Parent Migration - aged parents and working-age parents. (Parent migration applications are processed in Australia, not Singapore.)
• Booklet 4, Other Family Migration - aged dependent relative, remaining relative or carers.

Lodging Family Stream Visa Applications
The following is an overview of arrangements for local lodgment of applications for spouse, fiancé and child migration visas.
Checklist for Spouse or Prospective Spouse Migration
1. Original Application Form 47SP. An electronic copy of the 47SP can be found at: http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/47sp.pdf
2. Notarised* copy of full birth certificate for all family members included in the application.
3. Original passports of main applicant must be presented with application for verification of application details.
4. Notarised* copy of Personal Identification page(s) of passports (ie. name, date of birth, passport number, passport validity and signature page) for the main applicant and all family members included in the application.
5. Four (4) recent passport-sized photographs for each family member included in the application and two (2) recent passport-sized photographs for your sponsor– coloured or black and white.
6. Notarised* copy of marriage certificate/evidence of defacto relationship/interdependent relationship, where applicable.
7. Notarised* copy of divorce absolute, separation papers, custody orders in respect of any children or adoption papers where applicable.
8. Notarised* copy of death certificate (if applicable).
9. Sponsorship form 40SP – must be completed by your sponsor and submitted at the time of lodgement of your application. An electronic copy of the 40SP can be found at: http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/40sp.pdf
10. Notarised* copy of the sponsor’s birth certificate, marriage certificate, divorce certificate (if applicable), Australian citizenship, Australian permanent residence or eligible New Zealand citizen and the bio-data page with photograph and personal details of his/her current passport.
11. For Spouse/Prospective Spouse applications, you should provide (a) a short statement of the development of your relationship and future plans. (b) if living apart – original correspondences, telephone bills & photographs. (c) if living together – evidence of joint bank account, loans, leases, ownership of property, household bills, photographs and other joint responsibilities.
12. Form 80 “Personal Particulars for Character Assessment” – to be completed for each family member included in the application over the age of 16 years.

13. We will instruct you when you lodge your application about the timeframe and procedures for obtaining medical clearances and police clearances (where applicable).
* A Singapore Notary Public list can be found in the Yellow Pages. In addition, any Foreign Language documents must be accompanied by official translations into English (please refer to the Yellow Pages for official translators).
Checklist for Child Migration

1. Original Application Form 47CH. An electronic copy of the 47CH can be found at: http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/47ch.pdf
2. Notarised* copy of full birth certificate for all family members included in the application.
3. Original passports of main applicant must be presented with application for verification of application details.
4. Notarised* copy of Personal Identification page(s) of passports (ie. name, date of birth, passport number, and passport validity) for the main applicant.
5. Four (4) recent passport-sized photographs – coloured or black and white.
6. Notarised* copy of the parent’s passport – bio data page, signature page and their current Australian resident visa.
7. Notarised* copy of marriage certificate of parents.
8. Notarised* copy of divorce absolute, custody orders in respect of any children or adoption papers where applicable.
9. Official Statutory Declaration from the Parent who is NOT the Sponsor, permitting the applicant(s) to migrate.
10. Notarised* copy of death certificate (if applicable).
11. Sponsorship Form 40CH – must be completed by your sponsor and submitted AT THE TIME OF LODGEMENT of your application. An electronic copy of the 47CH can be found at: http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/40ch.pdf

SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION

A Visa Application Charge (fee) is payable. See http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/990i.htm for fees.
When you lodge the application you will receive a receipt for the fee and a letter of acknowledgment. The letter will contain a contact name and telephone number and file reference number.
