Australian education offers more Singaporeans a Future Unlimited
Up to 20 per cent more Singaporeans are choosing to pursue their education in Australia,according to official Australian Government data released by Austrade, the Australian Trade Commission.
The number of Singaporeans now undertaking research studies in Australia has also increased by 20 per cent compared to five years ago, and the number opting for postgraduate studies has increased by 17 per cent over the same period.
Prospective students can find out why at the inaugural Future Unlimited Festival – a new program of Australian education-related events and online activities, launched today by Australia’s High Commissioner to Singapore HE Mr Doug Chester.
“Australia has long been the most popular overseas destination for Singaporean students. Today its appeal is greater than ever,” says Mr Chester.
“An Australian education can be the key to a better life. Our qualifications are recognised around the world. They equip graduates with skills, knowledge and networks to last a lifetime; laying the foundations for a Future Unlimited."
“Well over 100,000 Singaporeans have graduated from Australian universities, including many nationally and internationally prominent members of Singaporean society,” says Mr Chester.
Austrade’s four-month Future Unlimited Festival offers a new generation of Singaporean students, parents, academic counsellors and scholarship providers, a wide range of information about Australia’s internationally-renowned educational institutions and how they can help students to develop their potential and achieve their goals.
“Australia has been widely recognised as a world leader in teaching, research, innovation, technology and sustainability,” says Austrade Senior Trade Commissioner Ms Julie-Anne Nichols.
“The Future Unlimited Festival shows how an investment in an Australian education will help deliver personal and professional success.”
Festival highlights include:
- personal clinic consultations with education counselors
- Future Unlimited essay competition – with a trip to Australia hosted by the university of your choice as first prize!
- Australian Transnational Education Fair, 7-8 April 2012.
